8 Faces, a new English design magazine on typography, saw all 1000 copies of its first issue sell out in just two hours of publication.
Announcing itself to "devotees of typography", the magazine's lead question, "If you could only use eight typefaces for the rest of your life, which would you choose?" is addressed by the featured work of eight leading designers from the fields of web, print and type design, and illustration.
The design title's issue #1 also carries interviews with typographers Erik Spiekermann, Jos Buivenga and Jessica Hische, among others.
The inaugural copies - presented as collector's editions - were specially printed on heavy uncoated stock, with a foil-blocked cover, and individually numbered.
Elliot Jay Stocks, who edited, designed and published the magazine, expressed surprise at the sellout. Only a PDF version of the magazine is available now at £3.00 on the 8 Faces website.
8 Faces releases two issues a year, with issue #2 to be released just before Christmas.
This Article come from MASHABLE- It's quite a Feat when a TYPOGRAPHY Magazine sells out in 2 Hours, However I have noticed almost any magazine worth it's weight in cost- is being Printed and Exported out of the UK. I remember the day's of my Youth when I'd go down to the Town Magazine rack- and there were just piles and piles of magazines. As I got older and was able to Travel to the City San Francisco- there were magazine store's that dwarfed my hometown magazine store. No the  shelve be Bare(at least in the small towns) but can we blame it on the Internet or the Greed of the Printing Community- I'd say it's a 40/60 split and theMajority goes to the Printer Greed- Now Look at these Printer's all over the Net with thier Cut Rate Deal-what was once a wholesale Price for 1,000 flyer's is now the sale's price to the public.
