There once was numerous Typography and Graphic Magazine's, back before everything was done by computer, the need- but further more the vechile to advertise New Products, such as Font's (possible that the older reader's will remember the old Type-setting machine's- where you took your copy(usually typed) semi Formated- red-penned-on the size of Font-Font Type, ect- to the Printshop, the bigger shop's had on site typographic machines and the smaller shop sent them out. They Printed out your copy- you reviewed it-they set it-Printed you out a Hard -Copy- or some times more depending on your request's you went home, and added, wrapped and did what it takes someone proficient on Word or Serif and few Hours to do, took you several day's.
Anyway there are still a Few to the Typographic Magazine's Around- Baseline and Emigre come to mind as the top 2 due the fact that they review new books, and most of what they cover are Typography of day's gone past.
Sadly not enough people read these magazine's- and the Modern Typography is very Dull and Dry- Most of it lacks character and the only places you'll see in imagination in typography is in Independent Magazines, and small press DIY Zines.
